Lisa Ono Returns to Hangzhou: Exclusive Interview on the Energy of the Bamboo Forest

Lisa Ono will come to Hangzhou next month Exclusive interview: The bamboo forest by the West Lake gives me a lot of energy

When did you first hear Lisa Ono?

Many people said it was in a cafe, and others said it was because of the movie. In Wong Kar Wai’s movie “In the Mood for Love”, Lisa Ono used the song “Quizas, Quizas, Quizas” to add a halo to Maggie Cheung and Tony Leung’s affair: Maggie Cheung wore a delicate cheongsam, and the orange street lamps illuminated a woman’s loneliness ; Tony Leung leaned against the corner of the wall, the smoke blown by the wind concealed his unresolvable thoughts. At the beginning of Feng Xiaogang’s movie “A World Without Thieves”, the magnificent and delicate northwest scenery is matched with the most classic song “La Vie En Rose” by Lisa Ono.

Lisa Ono, who was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, is known as the “Chief Bossa Nova Queen” in the music world. She interprets Bossa Nova, a Brazilian music that combines samba and jazz, like a dream. In 1989, she released her first album, capturing everyone with her natural singing voice and sweet smile.

The annual appointment between Hangzhou audience and Lisa Ono will continue this year!

In 2023, Lisa Ono will restart her China tour, and the Hangzhou station will start at the Hangzhou Theater on August 27.

Before the show, we exclusively interviewed Lisa Ono, come and check her letter from across the sea.

City Express · Orange Persimmon Interaction: Lisa used to come to Hangzhou every winter for a concert. What impresses you the most about Hangzhou?

Lisa Ono: Hello friends from Hangzhou, I am Lisa Ono.

Hangzhou left a deep impression on me is the beautiful West Lake and bamboo forest in Hangzhou. I remember walking with the musicians and staff members in the West Lake and the surrounding bamboo forest during the break time of the concert. I was very relaxed, breathed a lot of fresh air, and gained a lot of energy. My musicians are working hard again to bring you live concerts one after another. So next time I go to Hangzhou, I must go to the bamboo forest by the West Lake.

City Express · Orange Persimmon: This tour is also your 35th anniversary as a singer. Do you have any “debut speeches” of your own?

Lisa Ono: In a blink of an eye, I have been a singer for 35 years. I really can’t believe it. It seems to be talking about other people’s experiences. During this period, I probably produced and released more than 30 albums. It is true that every album is happy, produced with heart, and full of sense of accomplishment. There are many, many live performances, full of precious memories. I remember releasing a Hawaiian music-themed album one year, when we all wore traditional Hawaiian costumes and the musicians played wukulele. Once when we were making an album with the theme of country music, everyone wore denim overalls and big-brimmed hats. Every time we made music with the musicians full of joy, and then passed our joy to Every friend who hears the album will feel very comforted and rewarded every time the production is completed.

City Express · Orange Persimmon Interactive: Are there any surprise arrangements for this concert that you can disclose?

Lisa Ono: I was fortunate enough to be invited to China for a concert more than ten years ago. It has been so many years in a blink of an eye, but in the past three years, I am very sorry that I have no way to meet you. During these three years, I will often think about it. Friends in China, how are you all? This year I can finally go to China to perform for you, and our team will do our best to present a wonderful concert for you. It can make friends who come to the scene feel happy from the bottom of their hearts, and go to the scene with me to feel the beauty of music! We look forward to seeing you all at the venue!
