At the age of 54, the singer Lisa Marie Presley, the only daughter of the rock and roll legend Elvis Presley, died, the BBC reported, referring to her mother Priscilla Presley.
It was previously reported that Lisa Marie was taken to hospital after possibly suffering a heart attack at her home in California.
In her statement, Priscilla Presley asked that the privacy of the family be respected as they try to cope with the enormous loss.
Lisa Marie was born in 1968 and was the owner of the Graceland mansion in Memphis, which is a popular tourist attraction. She was nine years old when Elvis died at Graceland in 1977.
Lisa Marie’s music career began with the 2003 debut album To Whom It May Concern, followed by Now What in 2005. Both reached the top 10 on the Billboard 200 album chart.
The third album, Storm and Grace, was released in 2012.
Lisa Marie has been married four times. She married pop star Michael Jackson in 1994, just 20 days after divorcing her first husband, musician Danny Keough. The famous couple divorced in 1996 as Jackson battled allegations of child molestation.
Presley married actor Nicolas Cage, a big fan of her father, in 2002. Cage filed for divorce four months later.
Her fourth marriage is to her guitarist and music producer Michael Lockwood. Their divorce was finalized in 2021.
Lisa Marie had four children. Her only son, Benjamin Keough, died in 2020 aged 27. Daughter Riley Keough, 33, is an actress. Her other two daughters are the 14-year-old twins Harper and Finley Lockwood, BNR reports.
