In folkhemssverige in the 50s and 60s, a ceramic figure of Lisa Larson almost a must in most homes and nowadays in the eldorado of online auctions, a figure by Lisa Larson is a safe bet for tricked-out bidding.
Her popularity has only increased over the years, not least in Japan, where her figures have almost gained cult status.
In 1954, after 5 years of studies at the University of Design and Crafts in Gothenburg, Lisa Larson was employed at the Gustavsberg porcelain factory. It was Stig Lindberg who became enamored of her student work who persuaded her to take the job.
For 26 years she worked at Gustavsberg, but in 1980 she switched to her own business. The love of clay remained strong throughout life.
