Liquidity continued to decrease for the second consecutive session, VN-Index “evaporated” nearly 13 points

Liquidity continued to decrease, VN-Index “evaporated” nearly 13 points

During this morning session (March 3), the demand was mainly at an exploration level and the selling increased at the end of the session, making red dominate on the electronic board.

VN-Index stopped the morning session and dropped 8.02 points to 1,029.59 points (-0.77%); HNX-Index dropped 0.8 points to 205.35 points (-0.39%); while UPCoM-Index dropped 0.09 points to 76.19 points (-0.12%).

The whole market recorded 445 losers, 258 gainers and 230 reference codes. Trading volume was about 225.8 million shares, equivalent to 3,438 billion dong.

In which, order matching transactions on HoSE continued to weaken with 2,226 billion dong, down more than 100 billion dong compared to the previous session.

The VN30 basket during this morning’s trading session had a poor trade with 27 losers and 3 gainers. Large-cap stocks such as VCB, BID, VHM, TCB, CTG, VIC…. traded poorly, pulling the VN-Index down. On the other side, HPG, MSN, HVN, GVR,… played the role of keeping pace for the index.

Entering the afternoon session, the large-cap group was suddenly sold strongly, causing the drop to widen. As of 14:00, VN-Index decreased 11.07 points (1.07%) to 1,026.54 points, VN30-Index decreased 11.77 points (1.14%) to 1,016.96 points.

Towards the end of the session, the selling force was overwhelming so VN30-Index dropped and broke the 1,030 mark. At this time, the VN30 group was suddenly sold strongly, causing the VN-Index to lose nearly 13 points, while the VN30-Index lost 15 points.

Market liquidity also gradually increased and reached more than 8,731 billion VND, VN30 group alone contributed nearly 2,030 billion VND in liquidity.

At the close, VN-Index dropped 12.84 points (1.24%) to 1,024.77 points, HNX-Index decreased 1.26 points (0.61%) to 204.89 points, UPCoM-Index decreased by 0.49 points (0.64%) down to 75.8 points.

Market breadth was negative with 576 decliners, 286 advancers and 212 standstill stocks. In which, VN30 group recorded up to 26 stocks of decreasing price, 1 code of increasing price and 3 stocks of standing at reference price.

Apart from VN30, the movements of other stocks did not change much in ATC session, with the same less positive trend.

The three stocks that have the best impact on VN-Index are STG, PLX, and VSC with a total contribution of 0.13 points. On the other hand, the three stocks that have the worst impact on VN-Index are VCB, MSN, and BID. In which, only VCB removed 2.67 points; MSN removed 1.03 points and BID removed 0.63 points from VN-Index.

Regarding the transactions of foreign investors, foreign investors today net sold 191 billion on HoSE.

Although market liquidity today reached more than 8,731 billion dong, an increase of more than 2,000 billion dong compared to yesterday, this is still one of the sessions with the lowest matching volume in more than a year.
