Hagen Funk, President of the Lions Club Schifferstadt-Goldener Hut, called the Kulturkapelle an “important cultural institution in Limburgerhof” when he was able to hand over the sum of 6,500 euros. In addition to this one-time sponsorship, the Lions Club continues to support the Kulturkapelle with its “Regio-Art” initiative. The Schlösschen im Park development association was also given 500 euros because the rooms were used there.
According to the Lions Club, the donation amount consists of the proceeds from the Summertime Jazz event on August 21, 2022: sponsorship money, donations, raffle, sale of food and drinks to the almost 500 visitors. The total is rounded up by personal donations from Lions club members. The President was then also accompanied by Edgar Janssen and Georg Kiefer, who organized the Summertime Jazz in the Park. She also thanked the municipality of Limburgerhof for their cooperation and support during this event. Board member Stefan Lehmann thanked for the donation on behalf of the association Ensemble im Park Limburgerhof (Enpali).
In addition, at an internal event in Limburgerhof, members of the Lions Club collected money for the hospice in the Wilhelminenstift Speyer of the Speyer-Mannheim deaconess institute. The occasion was a report by Heike Göbel, who has been working on a voluntary basis in the hospice for many years. Over 2000 euros were collected. According to the hospice, this amount will be used for new chairs. The Wilhelminenstift was the first hospice in Rhineland-Palatinate. So the furniture is getting old.
