It started out as a rumour, but it’s on its way to becoming a reality very soon.

Lionel Messi’s transfer to Al Hilal is close to taking place after, in recent days, as A BOLA found out, club and player have reached an agreement on the salary to be earned by the PSG striker who became world champion at the end of 2022: 500 million euros, annual and tax-free!

A hefty salary, a multimillionaire, but one that convinced the Argentine star to accept moving, at the age of 35 (he turns 36 next June), to Saudi Arabia and re-enact the rivalry that has marked the last two decades: Messi versus Cristiano Ronaldo, who this season signed for Al Nassr.

As far as A BOLA is aware, the negotiations actually took place and in the course of them the two parties ended up meeting halfway.
