Lionel Messi’s Future Plans: Moving to Inter Miami and Playing for Newell’s Old Boys

World star Lionel Messi moved from Paris St. Germain to Inter Miami in the USA in the summer. But his plans go far beyond this season. In an interview with “TyC Sports” on the “Olga” show, Messi reveals how he plans his future.

The seven-time world footballer explains: “I always had the idea in my head to enjoy Argentine football, to play for Newell’s and to do it as a world champion.”

Messi’s football career began at Newell’s Old Boys in Argentina. He played for the club from his hometown Rosario until he was 13, then in 2000 he moved to FC Barcelona’s youth team.

But the 2022 world champion is not yet thinking about ending his career. “I want to keep doing what I love. I don’t want to think about the future. I want to enjoy it as much as possible. What I love most is playing football.”

Messi joined Inter Miami, where David Beckham is co-owner, in the summer after two rather unsuccessful years at Paris St. Germain. The four-time Champions League winner has scored eleven goals in his twelve appearances so far. The 36-year-old recently had to miss the game due to a muscle injury.
