Lionel Messi reached a milestone on Sunday: he will be the first non-Spanish player to play 500 games for Barca in LaLiga.
Lionel Messi played his 500th game against Huesca in Spain’s LaLiga on Sunday and his 750th game for FC Barcelona in all competitions.

This means that Messi is only five La Liga games behind his former teammate Xavi, who also holds the record for most appearances in the Barca shirt with 767.

Messi is only the second player and the first born outside of Spain to reach that mark for Barca. Andres Iniesta is behind with 442 LaLiga appearances.
