Lionel Messi crowned as Best FIFA Player 2023. The flea also set a new record at the award.
The 2023 FIFA Best Player award ceremony took place at Eventim Apollo, London, Tuesday (16/1/2024) early morning WIB. Messi came out as the winner.
Messi collected 48 scoring points, the same as Erling Haaland. However, the Inter Miami star was still chosen as the winner because he received more first places than national team captains voting according to the applicable rules.
This award also makes Lionel Messi managed to win two prestigious awards in 2023. The captain of the Argentine national team previously succeeded in winning the trophy Ballon d’Or 2023.
Messi’s victory in Best FIFA Player 2023 making it into the record books. The flea becoming the first player to win the award three times.
Messi first won it in 2019 and added it three years later. Interestingly, the three awards were won with three different clubs.
In the 2019 edition, Messi embraced him in a Barcelona uniform. At the 2022 FIFA Best Player award he defended Paris Saint-Germain, and this year with the status of an Inter Miami player.
Messi’s number of FIFA Best Player titles also surpasses two other top players, Cristiano Ronaldo and Robert Lewandowski. CR7 and Lewangoalski each collected two trophies.
