Lionel Messi will decide the future of PSG after the World Cup | All football

Lionel Messi will make a firm decision about his future after the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Messi will lead La Albiceleste to the Middle East next month in what will likely be his last appearance in a major tournament for Argentina.

The 35-year-old had an incredible start to the 2022/23 season at Paris Saint-Germain with 11 goals and 13 assists in Ligue 1 and Champions League.

His current contract in the French capital expires at the end of the season, with Christophe Galtier’s side retaining an option for a further 12-month extension.

However, speculations about his next move have reignited following suggestions from Barcelona club president Joan Laporta about a return to Camp Nou in January.

According to CBS Sports, Messi will call to renew at PSG in January but will not leave the club mid-season.

PSG have secured a place in the round of 16 but will have to wait one last day to see if they can oust Benfica as Group H winner.
