WHAT IS THE BACKGROUND? Messi is the most decorated player in football history with 44 trophies and even holds a trophy alongside Maluma in a video filmed at Inter Miami’s DRV PNK Stadium.
Maluma said his latest release is “a tribute to the greatest LEO MESSI”, with the Colombian also including a goat emoji in his social media post. Seven-time Ballon d’Or winner Messi has presented his South American compatriot with an Inter Miami jersey.
WHAT’S NEXT? The video is said to have been taken on August 4, the day after Messi scored a brace for Inter Miami in their 3-1 League Cup win over Orlando City in Florida. Messi could now make his MLS debut against New York this weekend.
