Lionel Messi seems to be very fond of Luka Romero, who is already being talked about in Argentina as the young player who could follow in La Pulga’s footsteps in a few years’ time. Messi apparently wants to guide his younger version to Paris Saint-Germain.
According to information from Corriere dello Sport, Messi is campaigning for a Romero commitment with the Paris club management. The 17-year-old only switched from RCD Mallorca to Lazio Rome in Serie A last summer for 200,000 euros.

Romero is to be slowly introduced to professional football at Lazio, with four brief appearances in Serie A this season. In the past, Romero had been upset that many see him as the new Messi.
“It annoys me that they compare me to Messi because there is only one Messi. I want to make a name for myself in football as Luka Romero,” said the winger, who was born in Mexico and has Spanish roots but prefers one career with the Argentine Football Association.
