World footballer Lionel Messi starts the next phase of his great career on July 16th. As announced by his new club Inter Miami, the 36-year-old Argentinian will be officially presented next Sunday at the MLS club’s stadium under the motto “The Unveil”.
David Beckham’s club promised “exciting entertainment, on-pitch speeches and more” at the event. Messi, who won the World Cup with Argentina in December, is expected to be unveiled in Miami alongside his former Barcelona team-mate, Spaniard Sergio Busquets.
Messi is then expected to make his debut against Mexican club Cruz Azul on July 21 in the Leagues Cup, a tournament between the top clubs in the MLS and the Mexican league.
Inter Miami sit bottom in Major League Soccer’s Eastern Conference, with only one team in the 29-club league having a worse record.
