In the 2026 World Cup qualifying match with Ecuador (1:0), Messi scored with a direct free kick. The Argentine has 65 such goals, which puts him behind David Beckham.
The leader is Juninho Pernambucano (77). He is followed by Pele (70), Ronaldinho and Victor Legrotallier (66 each).
