Argentinian football star Lionel Messi does not want to play for his country’s national team again at the upcoming World Cup 2026 in the USA, Mexico and Canada. However, one does not want to put up with that in one’s home country.

“That was my last World Cup. I’ll see how it goes, but in principle I won’t go to the next World Cup,” Messi confirmed in an interview with the Chinese sports newspaper on Tuesday Titan Sports.
Messi has already taken part in five World Cups and won the title for the first time with the Argentine national team at the World Cup in Qatar at the end of 2022. He is currently preparing for an international match against Australia in Beijing.
