Lionel Messi and Bad Bunny collaborate for an iconic project

Adidas announced a new shoe design in which they collaborated with Lionel Messi and Bad Bunny.

The footballer and musician are two of Adidas’ biggest ambassadors, both having signed deals with the German sportswear company.

The two worlds now collide in the new collection The Bad Bunny & Messi.

The details

Only a day after leading Inter Miami to the end of a historic MLS season, in which they finished with a record number of points and consequently won the Supporters Shield, ESPN reported that Adidas was releasing a shoe collection that would feature the Argentinian and the king of Latin Trap.

Two announced shoes from the collection are inspired by iconic Adidas pairs: the Adidas Gazelle and the F50 boot.

The Adidas Gazelle, born in 1966, is one of the most recognizable shoe brands in the world. The F50 is also the Adidas shoe that Lionel Messi has given throughout his career.

The words of Lionel Messi and Bad Bunny

Lionel Messi told ESPN that he did not hesitate to join, like him and his family, the great admirers of the 30-year-old Puerto Rican rapper/singer, Bad Bunny.

We really like his music. We have been following him for a long time and there is always one of his songs in the playlists we listen to. It’s part of the mix that always plays”, revealed the 37-year-old.

Bad Bunny, who has been the world’s most streamed artist on Spotify for three consecutive years (2020-2022), also expressed his excitement about working with the former Barcelona captain, revealing that he always been a fan.

I’ve always been a fan of Messi, so collaborating with him is a dream come true. Obviously, I admired his talent and excellence in the game, but I also saw him as an example of how to stay humble, let your work speak for itself, and stay focused.

His dedication and effort is what really sets him apart from others, and it’s something I’ve tried to emulate.

We wanted to ensure that the final product was not only authentic, but also something that we ourselves use in our daily lives and that reflects our personal style.

We are excited to bring this collaboration to our Latin community. The inspiration comes from our roots and how sports and music intertwine, creating something authentic for our fans”, Bad Bunny told ESPN.
