The Depardieu affair has continued to provoke reactions and divide the world of cinema. For Lio, things are clear: those who defend the actor are “buffoons”.
“I just regret that this old world still has so much power,” she adds on the set of C the weekly, in a teaser video for the show which will be broadcast this Saturday evening. The singer explains that she “was lucky enough to be able to avoid” Gérard Depardieu.
“Yes, there are strong women who say no, but what do we do with the others? Predators choose the injured one from the herd.”

The singer particularly blasts Patrick Chesnais who had minimized the importance of the comments made by the actor in North Korea and revealed by Complément d’Enquête.
“He’s too senile to hold a pen.”
“It’s not that serious, he declared. We wanted to make it serious but it’s not more serious than that. We can disagree, we can be shocked, say that this is not good. But that does not fall into justice or the law, nor into morality either. It is a question of behaving well. But Gérard Depardieu, he is not behaving well. He is holds up in his films because he’s a great actor but for the rest he doesn’t necessarily hold himself well.”

And Lio concludes: “All that we have been able to do on a set for years with the complicity of an entire environment which is in question today, these are unacceptable behaviors which destroy. I was a victim of it, I am not the only one.”
