Linz implements stronger traffic regulations following multiple complaints

Press release from 03/31/2023

The police in Linz received more and more information that the secondary route between Linz and Kasbach, the streets “Rheinhöller/In der Mark”, is being increasingly used as an alternative route due to the closure of the B 42. These roads are restricted in their use, only residents are allowed to drive on them. The officials took this as an opportunity to carry out checks there.

Linz-Kasbach. In less than an hour, 21 vehicles were checked on this very narrow road, using it only as a shortcut. In some cases, the navigation system also indicated these streets as an alternative route. Due to the special situation, the officers initially left it at clarifying discussions and verbal warnings.

The Linz police expressly point out that only residents are allowed to drive on these roads, and fine proceedings will also be initiated in the future. (PM)
