Linz AG ends home office agreements during Holy Week

LINZ. At the beginning of Holy Week, Linz AG lets the individual home office agreements expire and orders the more than 400 employees back to their offices. As a justification, the company gives “missing legal basis after March 26th”.

The e-mail to the 420 employees of Linz AG in question, who informed them about this step on Thursday, also has tips. Some Linz AG employees emphasized their concerns about this measure in messages to the editors.

Since March 2020, employees from different company units have been working from home on both sides.

“No legal basis after March 26th”

The reason given in the email in question was that there would be no legal basis on the part of the federal government after March 26, in particular with regard to an extension of the measures to protect risk groups.

According to this message, the situation with regard to home office and risk groups would be “reassessed” after Holy Week. The Linz AG Board of Management also assumes that many employees will take their vacation or time off during Holy Week anyway, and managers are asked to accommodate employees with vacation agreements.

“On Monday we will see who has applied for vacation, who has applied for individual agreements and who is coming to work. All three variants are possible, ”said Linz AG General Director Erich Haider in his first response to Orf OÖ online on Friday afternoon. An official response from Linz AG to a request for tips on assessing the situation and the employees’ fears is not yet available.
