Linus Klasen was the man of the match at Hovet, for better or for worse.
Because after both a penalty goal and a match penalty, Djurgården managed to turn around and win against Mora with 3–2.
– Have you ever seen that version? says teammate Emil Berglund about the penalty goal.
Mora had to enter Hovet’s ice once more this spring on Tuesday.
This time for the semi-final meeting with Djurgården and the visitors looked to be enjoying themselves from the start.
But the first question was: was it luck or skill when Anthon Eriksson stepped in the 1-0 puck behind Viktor Andrén?
But before the break, Djurgården equalized via Olle Liss on a patented shot in numerical superiority.
– We make a lot of mistakes… we have to remove what doesn’t work and score goals in our situations, says Mora’s Noah Steen.
“Rock star – most skilled in Sweden”
Once in the middle act, however, the joy was short-lived. Because Johan Persson managed to make it 2–1, while the visitors had more to offer. But Noah Steen burned the free position he got in numerical superiority.
And of course they showed cockiness, at least Linus Klasen who was at the center of events.
– He shows what a rock star he is out there on the ice. Most skilled hockey player in Sweden, says teammate Alexander Ytterell.
First he put a penalty in the goal (which Axel Andersson fixed after three minutes of play) in the coldest way. This by just lifting the puck past Waltteri Ignatjew on almost straight legs.
Emil Berglund sat fascinated and watched in the booth.
– It’s like I said to him: “Just put the crossbar in and it’s a goal”. Joking aside. You have no idea what he’s going to do when he goes there, it’s candy every time. It is enjoyable to watch from the booth, he says and continues:
– No… have you ever seen that version? He’s good at it.
Linus Klasen had to leave the ice
When Djurgården took the lead 95 seconds later through Linus Eriksson after a Mora mistake, it was time again.
Linus Klasen drew a match penalty four minutes later after putting the club in Noah Steen’s face. But Mora did not take advantage of the five-minute power play opportunity.
– It’s too bad. This is not us. It’s damn boring. We give the match away, so it’s hard, says Steen.
Instead, Djurgården was able to keep the lead they had turned to and win the first semi-final.
– Strong to turn. Good morals and character. We can do better, take the victory with us and have a bit to work on. It’s always important to win matches in the best of seven, it was nice. It’s always nice not to have to chase, it’s probably easier to lead, says Emil Berglund.
Linus Klasen left the arena without speaking to the media.
