Athina Linou sent an extrajudicial letter to Pavlos Polakis, which she announced on Facebook, with the SYRIZA war raging.
“Your false and slanderous announcements and posts about me and AMKE PROLEPSIS have one and only purpose: to mislead, according to your familiar tactics, both public opinion and SYRIZA officials about the work of PROLEPSIS so that it is forgotten in the public sphere the reason for your removal” from the SYRIZA Parliamentary Group, Ms. Linou states, among other things, in the courtroom.
He even calls on Mr. Polakis to download the slanderous news from the internet within three days. “Otherwise, they declare to you that I will appeal to the competent civil and criminal courts, both in Greece and in any other foreign country in which your posts in question became known, in order to restore the truth and my honor and fear.”
The answer Polakis
The reaction of Pavlos Polakis was immediate. “I’m terrified” he says with an ironic tone and clarifies that he is not going to take back what he has said.
“If we had prosecutors in this country, they would have called you already,” says Mr. Polakis, while he also points to the director of Stefanos Kasselakis’ office.
“Good Mr. Director of the Office of the President. Still drawing a conclusion with the pages Ms. Linou sent you? When you were in the Transparency Sector with me you were very quick. Now what happened? Has your judgment darkened?’
Explosive atmosphere in SYRIZA – The threat of censure
At the same time, the period of…final clarification has begun and as many experienced observers predict, with the completion of one year since the internal party elections in SYRIZA, when Stefanos Kasselakis was elected its president, there is the prospect of a new split.
In view of today’s meeting of the Parliamentary Group where St. Kasselakis will not participate in physical presence, discussions are intensifying in the background about if, how and when the motion of censure will be raised and names of potential candidates are already being circulated, such as e.g. of MEP Professor Nikos Faradouris, but also how St. Kasselakis.
At the same time, the scenario of St. Kasselakis was burned. After the resignation of Othon Iliopoulos from the position of State Member of Parliament, the runner-up, former press representative Popi Tsapanidou, who is expected to be sworn in next Friday, is not willing to resign.
The issue of Pavlos Polakis is still a concern for the leadership, with the former minister still not having met with St. Kasselakis to discuss what divides them…especially the major issue for the former, that of Athena Linou.
