Its characteristic features include a light golden color and a delicate, slightly nutty taste and smell, which can also be slightly earthy, which is natural for vegetable oils.

Linseed oil is primarily a rich source of unsaturated fatty acids, mainly alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), which constitutes about 60% of the composition of this oil and in smaller amounts linoleic acid and oleic acid. The main properties of linseed oil include, for example:

What to watch out for when using linseed oil?

When using linseed oil, it is worth paying attention to a few important things, namely:

  • If the product has an unpleasant, fishy smell or a bitter taste, it may indicate that it is no longer suitable for consumption;
  • the daily dose recommended by the manufacturer should be followed to avoid side effects such as abdominal pain or diarrhea;
  • Before you start consuming linseed oil, it is worth checking whether it does not interact with any medications you are already taking, for example hormonal or anticoagulant drugs;
  • This product should be stored in a cool, dark place, away from sunlight, and always kept well closed, so that it retains its nutritional value and freshness for longer;
  • Please pay attention to the expiration date and use the oil before it expires.
