On Friday, TV personality Linni Meister (37) released a cover of the Christmas classic “All I Want for Christmas is You”.

– At first I thought “it won’t work” [ …]. Firstly, it is the world’s most popular Christmas song, and then it is Mariah Carey (54) herself who sings it, Meister told Se og Hør on Thursday.
Furthermore, the TV profile said that it was important that they did something of their own with the song and modernized it.
Dagbladet’s reviewer Øyvind Rønning gave the song one roll of the dice.

“Linni Meister is therefore putting a lot of effort into it when she releases her heavily programmed version of the song tomorrow. And – she goes a long way in destroying its – after all – good name and reputation, although Carey’s original is not a critic’s favorite either. She adds nothing to the world. This is a silly – and unnecessary – thing to do,” Dagbladet’s review on Thursday said, among other things.
Now Meister responds to the slaughter from the newspaper.
Cryptic about cohabitation
– As for the review from Dagbladet, it is difficult to take seriously, as I have only received exclusively positive feedback from the people. And it is the people’s votes that count! she says to Se og Hør and adds:
– I am actually completely overwhelmed and touched by all the wonderful feedback on the song. It means EVERYTHING!

The Christmas song has also become a big hit at Meister’s home, where both boyfriend Morten Rognstad (45) and son Dennis are very happy.
– They dig it and fully approved it before I released it, so they give a sunny six, concludes the 37-year-old.
