In May it could be a television profile Linni Meister (36) revealed she was going to sell the apartment his in Holmenkollen. The apartment, advertised for NOK 6.2 million, was quickly sold.
However, a few days before the takeover, the buyer backed out. Then Meister, and his son Dennis (12), had almost completely moved out.
– What a struggle it was – half living in a box. My clothes here and the furniture in the warehouse. Besides, it was a bad time for Morten and I, Meister admits to Se og Hør, referring to his girlfriend.
– We have our ups and downs
– I wanted to finish
He asked several questions about the process, whether the buyer actually had financing, and whether the house had actually been sold.
The broker assured Meister that everything was in order and they could move everything safely. It turned out that this was not true, and therefore nothing came of the sale.
– I could have done a lot more in that case, but I just wanted to finish.
“Suddenly, a bill of almost NOK 50,000 for the house style appeared,” says the 36-year-old.
The buyer withdrew – he reacts
– I thought: “This is not right!”. I had spent so much, rented storage, a moving van and spent so much time. After all, I spent half my summer vacation moving.
Also, a frustrated Meister says there was “a lot of confusion” with the brokerage firm and that she therefore chose to turn the case over to her attorney, who is still working to resolve the issue.
– I don’t think I should pay for something they focused on, that’s not right!
The brokerage firm transforms
Se og Hør presented Meister’s experience to Nina Fodstad Skumsrud, legal director of EIE, the company that handled the sale of the apartment.
Fodstad Skumsrud explains that they apologize for the predicament Meister got into. As for the home styling bill, she has the following to say:
These are actually the names of celebrities
– The invoice you received covers photography, marketing, information and home styling expenses. These are expenses that every home seller must cover, even if you have the misfortune of not being able to sell the house because the buyer does not fulfill his obligations.
EIE has however decided that Meister will not foot that bill.
– Despite the fact that the buyer’s failure to comply with the agreement caused the situation, we have decided that Meister will not bear any costs associated with the sale. We are also in discussions with Meister’s lawyer about the case, Fodstad Skumsrud tells Se og Hør.
Difficult time
The TV profile candidly talks about how difficult it was for her and says she really missed her family.
Meister lost both parents at a young age.
– I really miss going to my mom’s, eating a ready-made dinner and throwing myself on the couch, lying down and forgetting everything.
– It’s not like that, I have to do everything by myself. But you know what, that makes you strong, she further points out.
The 36-year-old is known for his big smile and positivity. The ability to think positively helped her through the difficult period.
He reveals:- I want to get married
– It’s important to appreciate the good things you have in life. It’s one of my strengths: being positive by nature. I try not to “fake” anything. I wake up incredibly happy every morning, and that helps.
Meister can now say she’s glad they stayed, because she and her son are happy in the Holmenkollen flat.
– She was a virgin all that time
When Se og Hør asked her if she would like to move in with her boyfriend Morten Rognstad (44), she said the following:
– I am very happy that we are not roommates, don’t get me wrong. That alone time is so beautiful.
– We really wish we could move into a big funky house together sooner or later, but not right away. We each have our own life and it’s so nice to change, she concludes.
