At a reading on March 1st at 5:30 p.m. in the Aplerbeck district library, Linn Schiffmann will read from her novella “Rainbow Rocket” as well as independent short stories and texts from her current novel project (working title: “Echo & Phoenix”).
The short stories are mostly about trans identity (including non-binary identity) and the resulting difficulties of the protagonists in dealing with themselves and their environment. Life in the queer bubble is also viewed critically. The texts from “Echo & Phoenix” also have a crime thriller component, since this novel project is a crime thriller with queer protagonists.
Rainbow Rocket: Espen has two passions: women and space travel. When he hears that new astronaut candidates are being sought, he simply has to apply. Super is: Espen is accepted. Stupid, on the other hand: he swindled his place by pretending to be gay. But he likes women! But then he meets Michel and suddenly Espen isn’t so sure anymore…
