Linn Grant, 24, has gotten off to a flying start at the Dana Open in Ohio.
She went the first lap in 64 strokes and is now tied for the lead.
– I got into the zone, she says.
The Swedish star had hopes of challenging for victory in the US Open at Pebble Beach last week, but then finished tied for 53rd place.
In this week’s LPGA event – the Dana Open at the significantly easier Highland Meadows Golf Club course in Sylvania, Ohio – things got off to a better start.
Single leader
Grant kicked off the week with a round of 64 and entered the clubhouse as the sole leader at seven shots under par.
– Considering how difficult it was at Pebble Beach last week, and that after all I felt like I hit the ball well and putt well, it was perfect to come here to an easier course. It was a nice feeling and today I got into the zone, she says Golf week.
Thailand’s Jaravee Boonchant also went the first lap at -7 and now shares the lead with Linn Grant.
Linnea Ström and Linnea Johansson have also started the competition and are at -5, two strokes behind Grant, after the first day’s play.
