Already in the first period, the meeting with Timrå was over for Linköping’s Arvid Aronsson.
After nasty injuries, he had to be helped by the ice.
But at the final signal, the LHC had to celebrate a late turnaround.
After 17 minutes, Arvid Aronsson accelerated towards the puck – then the leg appeared to give way.
He landed sideways on his skates, fell over and flew off speed into the edge. Without contact with opponents.
First, the 25-year-old got to his feet, then he fell just as quickly again.
After an attempt to crawl out to change, Jesper Pettersson and Broc Little moved in and supported their teammate with each shoulder.
In the booth, Aronsson was met by paramedics.
”Stark moral”
And it got worse before it got better for Linköping.
The following minute they conceded an equaliser, and in the middle period Magnus Pääjärvi made it 2-1 to Timrå.
But less than three minutes into the final period, LHC turned back.
Arvid Costmar equalized before John Nyberg made it 3-2 just under five minutes from the end.
– Great to turn around and win in the third, it shows strong morale, says equalizer shooter Costmar.
“Tough loss”
When Timrå had the lead, there were bids for more goals before LHC turned back.
After the match, Anders Karlsson was frustrated.
– Tough loss, I must say, two draws, two goals, says the Timrå coach.
The loss is the team’s second in a row and now awaits an away trip to Luleå.
Linköping brings three straight victories to the away meeting with HV71.
