LinkedIn announces that their stories will be removed at the end of September

With the arrival and popularization of the stories format on Instagram, there was an avalanche on all social networks. Suddenly it was not just Snapchat and Instagram, but also Facebook, WhatsApp, Spotify, Twitter and even LinkedIn. The latter is where it seemed strangest, considering that it is a professional platform with a certain profile of formality. Apparently that is what its users thought, because after a year of existence, the LinkedIn stories will be eliminated.

So he let it be known Liz Li, Senior Product Director of the company, also stating that the learning obtained will be put into practice with a promising replacement.

Why will LinkedIn Stories be removed?

As with the Fleets on Twitter, LinkedIn stories were rarely used by users. In both cases it implied a consumption of resources and space within the interface, which in the case of Twitter has already found a new use. In that sense, the LinkedIn stories will be removed after a year and a really minimal impact within the platform. In this way, it is expected that at the end of September this feature will be removed from the professional social network.

However, in her statement, Liz Li also makes it known that they have learned a lot during this journey of stories. In that sense, it indicates that they hope to turn the story format into a new video experience more given to the conversation. In this way, it is clear that they already have a replacement planned after the LinkedIn stories will be removed.

Despite this, it has not been defined if the new feature will immediately lead to the elimination of the stories. However, it is clear that not only Twitter did badly with this format and that LinkedIn is preparing new movements to strengthen its platform.
