Some users can customize the text of the link stickers on Instagram. It appears to be a test roll-out. We introduce the new feature.
Instagram’s introduction of the Link Sticker made waves in the social media world. Finally, with it came the ability for all profiles to share links to external pages in their stories. This was previously reserved for verified accounts or accounts with over 10,000 followers. While some are unfortunately still waiting for their account to be activated for the sticker, Instagram is already rolling out the next innovation. Also this time only for a few users as a test. They can now adjust the text of the link sticker.
Individual text on the Instagram link sticker
This also includes the Instagram account @scottsports_de_at. The sporting goods manufacturer has been able to access the new feature since Wednesday and shared screenshots with us.
Accordingly, a new option appears on the screen where users can insert the link for the sticker. Below the insert there is now a field in which the user can adjust the link sticker text. This is not limited in the number of characters, but in our tests only 30 characters were displayed in the story. The rest disappears behind three dots, which indicate that the text continues. In addition to letters, emojis can also be inserted into the sticker text.
This feature should make the use of the link sticker even more popular. The link sticker indicated beforehand which page you would be redirected to when you clicked, which slightly increased security for users. But an individual request as well @scottsports_de_at inserted into the story could ensure significantly more engagement in the future.
For everyone who can’t access the new function yet, we’ve shared another Instagram hack on a reel on how you can make the link sticker more interesting.
