Artemis is the Greek goddess of hunting and the moon. Together with her brother, the sun god Apollo, she was said to be able to distribute sudden death or disease to mortals, but she could also heal the sick. And so is Artemis, the title of the latest album by American violinist, songwriter, singer and dancer Lindsey Stirling.

Album name is not random. Stirling wrote and released them shortly after losing, in a short time, both a close friend and a father who lost his battle with cancer. That’s when Lindsey entered one of the darkest periods of her life, which strongly influenced her music.

“I wrote the most depressing things at first,” Stirling told the Associated Press at the time. “I didn’t have much depth in it. ‘Somehow I realized that I had to process these emotions myself before I could write about them. I want to learn how to open my heart more. ”

And that’s exactly what she decided to do on her latest album – to see if she’s brave enough to share her emotions through music. “I went through a few things that reminded me that none of this mattered – no money, no fame. The people around me are important. “

If we had to describe the album in one word, it would probably be “captivating”. The concept that drives it evokes the idea of ​​a dystopian and neon-soaked future set in a fantasy world.
