The owner of Twitter, Elon Musk, announced this Friday that Linda Yaccarino will be the new executive director (CEO) of the social network and that she will “focus primarily on business operations” while he will focus “on product design and new social network technologies.”
Prior to her appointment, Linda Yaccarino worked as the head of publicity for the media giant NBCUniversala company formed in May 2004 as a result of a merger between the National Broadcasting Company (NBC), owned by General Electric, and Vivendi Universal Entertainment.
NBCUniversal brands include: NBC News, Telemundo, Universal Studios and Dreamworks, among others.
IN 2018, Yaccarino was chosen by Donald Trump to be part of his Presidential Council of Fitness and Sports Nutrition, a position he held for two years.
In addition, during her tenure at NBCUniversal, the advertising expert oversaw the Trump’s last three seasons on the television show “Celebrity Apprentice.”
Yaccarino also collaborated with the administration of President Joe Biden, creating a a campaign to promote vaccination against coronavirus.
The new CEO of Twitter also works for the World Economic Forumin which he chairs the group on the Future of Work and is a member of the Committee on Media, Entertainment and Culture.
