Linda Petkova has a big problem. The other half of Kiril Petkov complained in an internet interview that she still hasn’t been given Bulgarian citizenship, “Standart” reports.
A year and a half ago, she submitted absolutely all the necessary documents, but she did not know what was happening and the wait continued. She had no idea when she would officially get residence documents in our country, as she currently has a temporary passport.
This fact limits some of her rights in Bulgaria, such as the fact that she cannot exercise her vote in any elections, even though she has lived in Bulgaria for 16 years.
“I can’t wait to vote! Only our eldest daughter Vanessa, who is in America, can. She goes to the embassy there and votes,” Linda explains.
Although she wants to be a full-fledged voter, the Canadian claims that she does not understand politics in our country. “I have a separate life from Cyril’s. This politics stuff is strange to me,” says Linda. She is frank that she did not react negatively when her husband told her about his intentions to enter politics, but the consequences of his career were on the whole family.
Linda had no such ambitions and passions. She was also not excited about the political processes in her native Canada, where her relatives continue to live – her father, her two sisters and her nephews. Her mother Margaret is long dead.
