entertainment">“Sometimes I’m afraid it’s back. The cancer is on the rise again. The idea that it can suddenly start growing again is quite a heavy one,” Hakeboom shares on Instagram. “When I feel a pain, I can no longer ignore it like I used to. A pain is no longer light, a pain suddenly weighs as much as my life. And that is quite heavy.”

entertainment">“Because what if it’s back? How will it feel if that moment ever comes? No one can tell me whether the chemo, radiation and surgery were enough. Whether there is still a cell somewhere waiting for it to attack again. This disease is a bastard.”

entertainment">However, it also makes life very valuable, says Hakeboom. “Life is so much more than worrying about someone cutting you off on the bike path, than being grumpy about someone who pushed his cart in front of yours at the supermarket.”
