Linda Fairstein takes Netflix to court over “When they see us” series: “I am portrayed as a racist and villain”

Fairstein (played by actress Felicity Huffman) led the sexual assault unit of the Manhattan Public Prosecution Service at the time. Some of her complaints about the Netflix series were refuted by the judge, but he pointed to five scenes about which she can file a case.

These include fragments in which Fairstein misbehaves by leaving evidence, displaying racist behavior and tapes showing that she forced the “five” into false confessions. “I’m portrayed as a villain who wants colored children in prison at all costs,” Fairstein said.
