Since being back in the spotlight again, Linda Evangelista has turned the spotlight on her years as one of the most sought-after models. In a recent podcast, she also explained the dark side of it, sharing that she’s gone on crash diets in the past to keep her weight off.
“Being a model in the ’80s and ’90s meant maintaining an unrealistic weight,” she said. “I was constantly restricting myself, trying to purify my body, although this was extremely harmful to it,” he added. One of the ways she tried to lose weight was herbal tea or salt water for ten days without eating.
In retrospect, Linda realizes that was unhealthy. “I only took liquids, at worst I allowed myself soup or one vegetable,” he says. This isn’t the first time Evangelista has spoken out about the harmful effects of unrealistic beauty standards in the fashion industry.
In September 2021, she published on social networks a shot following liposuction, which disfigured the magazine beauty. “It was supposed to help me, but in fact it made me unrecognizable,” he wrote then under the post. The text followed the rest: “I was brutally disfigured by Zeltiq’s CoolSculpting procedure, which did the opposite of what it promised. It increased, not decreased, my fat cells and left me permanently disfigured, even after undergoing two painful , failed, corrective operations.”
At this stage, the “Vogue” model is firmly determined that “she would never undergo cosmetic correction again”.
