At the age of 46 at that time, the world seemed to fall apart for Linda’s mother after hearing the doctor’s diagnosis. Moreover, he is enjoying his career as a member of the DPR, leading the Kowani organization, and accompanying his husband, Agum Gumelar. He still has a dream to see his children succeed and have grandchildren.
In fact, Linda had time to stay silent for about 10 days because she was dissolved in sadness. However, thanks to the support of family and friends around Linda, she got up and pushed herself to recover by taking medical treatment.
“At that time the child was still small, of course he must be sad. But at that time my youngest child was still in junior high school and above to pray and pray for me. From there it spurred me to be enthusiastic about treatment. crying and then will not solve the problem. Pity the people who have supported, “he said.
Linda also started treatment by following in the footsteps of Rima Melati which started when she read a magazine. In the article, it is explained how Rima Melati treated her breast cancer.
“Before I got sick, I had read an article about Rima Melati’s treatment. When I was sick, I immediately remembered the article and tried to contact her,” he said.
After contacting Rima Melati, Linda followed all of Rima’s directions, starting from being introduced by the doctor who treated her, to flying to the Netherlands for maximum treatment. Because in Indonesia at that time breast cancer treatment was still rare.
“5 years back and forth in the Netherlands for treatment. I decided to go there besides being here, the treatment is still difficult, I can take a break from my career in Indonesia and focus on treatment. Every time I go I am afraid, will the cancer spread, whether the other organs are still healthy but I’m still excited,” he said.
But thanks to being known at an early stage, Linda’s breast cancer did not spread. Until the treatment went well. This proves that if detected early, breast cancer can still be cured.
“So when there is a lump, don’t be afraid because it’s not necessarily cancer, but we should check with the doctor for follow-up,” said Linda.
