TV journalist Linda Abu Meri in Agnese Meiere’s material “I Earned This Love” in the edition “Ieva” expressed the opinion that her husband Hosam Abu Meri is a person for whom all Latvians are important.
Linda believes that Hosam is currently a bigger Latvian than the Latvians themselves.
She remembers a video that still roams the internet. In it, Hosam from the rostrum of the Saeima defended the Latvian language.
“He really is a person for whom the whole Latvian, Latvian language culture is very important,” Linda revealed.
She remembers an evening at home when they both didn’t want to watch shows or movies. Hosam then said that “My homeland” from the last Song Festival. Thus, for a large part of the evening, the two listened to other compositions from the festival and talked about how special it was to experience the Centennial Song Festival.
