Clubs and bars in Switzerland have been closed for a year due to the corona pandemic. For many party people a frustration. Several Zurich clubs are trying to counteract this. With “Limmatstream” you launched Switzerland’s first virtual club festival. This takes place on Saturday evening. Participants can register for a club online for free and create a personal avatar. You can navigate this and perform dance moves.
But not only virtual dancing is possible. Guests can also exchange ideas with other celebrants via video calls. “In virtual lounges you can make a video call with up to 15 people,” explains Alexander Bücheli from the Swiss Bar and Club Commission. They want to show that they would rather stand up for the joy of life than “keep your fist in the sack”. That is why they would rely on the virtual festival and forego demonstrations.
