Limited run is responsible for creating some of the most spectacular physical editions of digital games, but until now it only supported the PlayStation and Nintendo Switch versions, although that will change from now on. Those responsible for the publisher have confirmed an agreement with Microsoft to bring physical games to Xbox consoles.
During the latest episode of the Xbox Expansion Pass (via PureXbox), Limited Run co-founders Douglas Bogart and Josh Fairhurst revealed that the company has been an official Xbox partner since last year and they hope to begin “launching games that never made it to Xbox.” It appears that the process and the paperwork took longer than expected.
“We are making really good progress. We are officially an Xbox partner, so we hope to have more to reveal soon. Last year we were officially onboarding, but it took us a long time to get the paperwork because Xbox wants us to do certain things first. “
“We work with Bethesda all the time and Microsoft just bought Bethesda, and it’s really weird that the DOOM releases we’ve made aren’t on Xbox, it doesn’t make any sense. We work with Double Fine quite frequently; we have released some of their games. So not having them as Xbox releases physically is weird because now they are another company of their own as well. So, I think one of our great initial initiatives at Xbox will be to correct those things … “, say the managers. “Hopefully everything works out and we can start going full blast with Xbox soon.”
Without a doubt, this is great news for lovers of physical games and Xbox users because this way, Limited Run will be able to continue making fantastic editions of games that will arrive for the first time on Microsoft consoles. We will see which is the first game to have a physical edition on Xbox.
