Limited Edition Volkswagen Golf R 333: Sold Out in 8 Minutes in Germany

Cars with limited edition frills are guaranteed to be collector’s games. The sales surprised me because they sold out in a matter of minutes.

Quoted by Carscoops, Sunday (4/6/2023) the limited edition Volkswagen Golf R is one of the most successful cars to be hunted. The proof is that the car, which only made 333 units, sold out in just 8 minutes. That equates to nearly 42 vehicles sold per minute.

The limited edition Volkswagen Golf R is built on Golf Performance. This model is only intended for consumers in Germany.

“The Golf R 333 is the first R model whose specifications have been determined. This makes all consumer desires related to power fulfilled, thanks to the additional equipment that supports it,” said Hakim Halimi, Head of Product Marketing for Volkswagen R, in a statement.

Features include R-Performance Torque Vectoring with Vehicle Dynamics Manager, which distributes driving power not only between the front and rear axles but also between the two rear wheels. Through the stock it offers a special sporty dimension, especially when cornering.

This car is also designed for the racing arena for speeding and cornering on the Nürburgring Circuit arena. Some of the special features of the VW Golf R 333 can be seen in the R Performance exhaust system from Akrapovič with titanium rear dampers and black Estoril 19-inch wheels with semi-slick tires.

From an eye-catching exterior, the new hatch is painted in Lime Yellow Metallic which contrasts with the black roof.

The powertrain is still supported by the Golf R Performance turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that develops 329 hp (245 kW / 333 PS) and 310 lb-ft (420 Nm) of torque. Regarding performance, the limited edition VW Golf R with all-wheel drive accelerates from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 4.6 seconds and reaches a top speed of 270 km/h.

This sold-out car costs US$ 81,833 or around Rp. 1.2 billion.
