The new limited edition 911 Carrera GTS Le Mans Centenaire celebrating 100 years of the demanding endurance race will be produced in 72 units. The brand thus refers to a seventy-two-year presence in the plant.
The French dealership of the car manufacturer Porsche today showed off a new limited edition model of the 911 Carrera GTS, which, to celebrate the centenary of the demanding twenty-four-hour race, brings special accessories that were inspired by the historic cars Porsche 356 SL and Porsche 911 GT1.
The classic Porsche 356 won its class in 1951, when it took part in the race for the first time. The exotic-looking Porsche 911 GT1 then became the overall winner in 1998. In addition, the limited edition Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Le Mans Centenaire will be produced in only 72 pieces, as a reminder of the brand’s 72-year presence in this race.
The project of this limited edition began to be born already in 2025 and its author is Grant Larsson, director of special projects in the Porsche Style department. The result of his work is 25 new special components, but only French customers will be able to enjoy them – this limited edition is not aimed at other markets.
We can start right away with the Le Mans Silver exterior color, which was derived from the historic 356 SL car. In addition, the designers also borrowed the number 46, located on the doors, from the historic car. It is worth noting that Rod Emory, the current owner of the Porsche 356 SL, also helped with the exterior color.
Details such as gold wheels with a center nut, indicated blinds on the side windows or red seat belts were then borrowed from the limited edition of the 911 GT1. In addition, on the car we see several plaques referring to the Le Mans races or the stylish inscription “Born in Le Mans, manufactured in Zuffenhausen”.
The interior with sports seats is upholstered in Graphite Blue with decors in Chalk White. The shape of the La Mans circuit is embossed on the armrest, complete with the years 1923-2023. The special edition designation can also be seen on the door sills or the plaque in front of the passenger.
However, nothing has changed in terms of technology. Under the hood, there is still a 3.0-liter flat-six with twin-turbo supercharging, offering the highest output of 353 kW (480 hp) and 570 Nm of torque. The transmission of power to the wheels can be handled by a seven-speed manual transmission or an eight-speed PDK.
French customers can order the limited edition Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Le Mans Centenaire Edition now, but at a price starting at 237,819 euros, which is approximately 5.6 million crowns. Compared to the standard Porsche Carrera GTS, this is a significant additional charge of 79,109 euros, i.e. almost 1.9 million crowns.
