The Cupra sports division became a separate car brand three years ago, and that’s right Cupra Ateca was the first model to appear in the company’s offer. He passed last fall Seat Ateca rejuvenation procedure, which was followed shortly after by the sharpest version. Now the offer of the very first Cupry model is being expanded with an even more attractive design.

It is called Ateca Limited Edition VZ. As we have already found out with the Formentor crossover, the abbreviation VZ comes from the Spanish word “veloz” meaning “fast”. According to Aleš Novák, the director of the Cupra brand for the Czech Republic, such a designation symbolizes an extremely sporty and exclusive character. “This also applies to the new limited edition of the model, which we are launching on the Czech market right now,” adds.
This edition expands the already rich standard equipment with 20 “ground VZ Copper wheels, four-piston Brembo brake calipers on the front axle, four ends of the Akrapovič sports exhaust system and a carbon composite roof spoiler. Bremba has drilled brake discs at the front with internal cooling and a diameter of 370 mm. In addition to the appearance, the exhaust system improves the sound expression and reduces weight. Inside, those interested can look forward to upholstery combining velor and leather, shell sports seats or the Beats audio system with ten speakers.

The technology remains the same as the classic version, under the hood we find a supercharged four-cylinder 2.0 TSI with an output of 221 kW (300 hp) and a torque of 400 newton meters. The unit is exclusively connected to a seven-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. The dynamic parameters are also the same, from rest to a hundred the car will accelerate in 4.9 seconds.
In addition to sporting ambitions, safety has not been forgotten. Equipment includes Travel Assist with adaptive cruise control and assisted lane driving. There is also an assistant when reversing from the parking space, a room camera system or a parking assistant.

Cupra has not yet specified how “limited” this edition really is, but it has already told us the price tag. Ateca Limited Edition VZ starts at CZK 1,519,900, which is CZK 220,000 more expensive compared to the standard Cupra Ateca. In the context of the price tag, we cannot ignore the comparison with the Audi RS Q3. Although it still costs CZK 230,000 more than the Cupry limit (CZK 1,749,900), it again offers the iconic 2.5-liter five-cylinder with an output of 294 kW (400 hp).
