Limited Availability of iPhone 15 Pro Max Due to Screen Manufacturing Issue: Apple iPhone 15 Pro Launch Update

The number of Apple iPhone 15 Pro, especially the iPhone 15 Pro Max, will be very low when it launches in September. This seems to be related to a screen/illustration creation issue

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA—For iPhone lovers, there is some unpleasant news ahead of the launch iPhone 15 Pro. According to a recent report, stock Apple The iPhone 15 Pro, especially the iPhone 15 Pro Max, will be very few when it launches in September. This seems to have something to do with screen manufacturing issues on LG Display.

The problem stems from the fact that a new manufacturing process was used to shrink the size of the bezel (the distance between the screen and the edge of the body). This appears to be a similar issue to one Apple has also had for some Apple Watch models in the past.

Reported GSM Arena, Saturday (22/7/2023), the screens for the iPhone 15 Pro and especially the Pro Max made by LG reportedly failed the reliability test during the process where the screen was fused to the metal shell. Apple is currently tweaking the design of the screen made by LG in order to pass the test.

Apart from that, Apple still has screens made by Samsung that can be used for assembly. However, this issue is expected to result in not many units being available since launch. The iPhone 15 Pro Max will be the hardest to get which will be followed by the Pro.

A separate report from the previous day claimed that Apple would be delaying the launch by a few weeks. However, what is clear is that the problem with the display will affect the planned launch of the new iPhone series.
