South Korean Lim Sihyeon managed to win a Gold medal in all-around Archery at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
PARIS, France – South Korean archer Lim Sihyeon has made a historic debut at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games by claiming three gold medals in archery. With victories in the individual, team and mixed team events, Lim has left an indelible mark on the competition.
In the women’s individual archery final, Lim Sihyeon was crowned champion by defeating her compatriot Nam Suhyeon with a score of 7-3. On her way to the Final, she eliminated Megs Havers of Great Britain, Alejandra Valencia of Mexico, and her compatriot Jeon Hunyoung.
Lim Sihyeon dominated, while her compatriot Nam Suhyeon took the silver medal, while France’s Lisa Barbelin took the bronze after defeating South Korea’s Jeon Hunyoung 6-4. This result represented France’s first archery medal in Olympic history.
Total dominance
From the start of the Games, Lim Sihyeon made it clear that she was destined to shine. In the qualifying round, she set a new world record by registering a score of 694 points out of a possible 720, demonstrating her absolute dominance in archery.
Throughout the tournament, Lim has shown outstanding team skills. In the women’s team event, she took her first gold medal alongside Nam Suhyeon and Jeon Hunyoung, beating Team China by a narrow 5-4 scoreline. Mexico, with a remarkable effort, took the bronze medal in this category.
In the mixed team category, Lim Sihyeon, alongside compatriot Kim Woo-jin, once again shined as they defeated Germany by a resounding 6-0 scoreline, securing Lim’s second gold medal in this category.
Finally, Lim Sihyeon’s third gold medal came in the individual event, cementing her position as one of the world’s best archers and marking a milestone for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
