In a new one NRK documentary about singer and songwriter Lillebjørn Nilsen (72), the singer reveals the reason for the collapse of Grieghallen in 2013.
Here it emerges that the 72-year-old should have undergone a cancer operation before the performance with Gitarkameratene.
– I ‘m very good
– I asked the doctor if we could postpone my operation. I was scared as hell. I should never have done that, the singer candidly says in the documentary.
The Bergen newspaper reported that Nilsen fell several times, tipped over his instruments and finally had to be driven off stage during a concert with Gitarkameratene in 2013.
The super group Gitarkameratene consisted of Jan Eggum (71), Halvdan Sivertsen (71, Øystein Sunde (75) and Lillebjørn Nilsen.
– I would never do without those years with the Gitarkamatereten in the world. It was a great, great experience, says the latter in the new documentary.
Following the incident, he was called in sick and apologized for what had happened during the concert in a Twitter message.
Lillebjørn Nilsen finally speaks
“Double concert yesterday in Grieghallen. Sorry for the collapse before the last song during the last performance. Stomach ache! But Nilsen is alive,” he wrote at the time.
After the accident and the successful operation, Nilsen still managed to return to the stage, after which he gave several concerts together with the Seresta band.
