Lille takes the lead, spectacular Monaco in Nîmes

Golovin sees triple

Monaco has found its lucky charm: Aleksandr Golovin. Since the return of the Russian injury, ASM has chained seven consecutive victories, including a last in Nîmes which bears the seal of the “Tsar”.

The striker managed a hat-trick (3rd, 12th, 62nd), his first in red and white, to get his team out of the trap of the red lantern.

His superb free kick stunned valiant Crocos, who had equalized at 2-2 thanks to Lucas Deaux (23rd) and Zinédine Ferhat (32nd). Kevin Volland (78th) sheltered the Monegasques, who suffered until the end, after the reduction of the score of Niclas Eliasson (81st).

Niko Kovac’s men temporarily return to Paris SG in third place (48 pts), while awaiting the “Clasico” (9:00 pm) between PSG and Marseille, at the Vélodrome stadium.

Saint-Etienne advances, not Dijon

The heavily lost derby against Lyon (5-0) served as a wake-up call for Saint-Etienne who, since, has taken seven points out of the nine at stake.

The Greens (15th, 26 pts) confirmed their revival against Metz (1-0), thanks to the goal against his camp from John Boye (14th). Their dynamic distances them from the Nantes barrage (18th, 19 pts), who receives Lille at 5 p.m. In the fight for maintenance, Dijon (19th, 15 pts) is the big loser. Although they opened the scoring, the Burgundians gave in in the second half to Montpellier (4-2).
Without success for two months, the Hérault residents, carried by the double of Gaëtan Laborde (48th, 56th), celebrated in their own way the 500th in Ligue 1 of its captain Vitorino Hilton, 43 years old.

Nice and Brest hang on

After a difficult week, marked by two defeats and the serious injury to a knee of Jeff Reine-Adelaide, Nice deplored the last-minute package of its striker Kasper Dolberg, victim of an attack of appendicitis.

But the Gym defeated bad luck against Angers (3-0), to anchor itself in the middle of the table (13th, 29 pts).

Brest offered another fine example of resistance. Four days after snatching the draw in added time in Strasbourg (2-2), the Finistériens put it back, overthrowing Bordeaux (2-1) in the last ten minutes.

Steve Mounié (80th) and Romain Faivre (85th) offered a deserved success to the men of Olivier Dall’oglio, satisfied with the “big mind” of his team. The Girondins, who have a third setback, fell to 10th place (32 pts).
