Lille retains the lead, Monaco loses big in Strasbourg

Lille is doing well and keeping the lead

A first period without materializing for OM, which despite its opportunities, failed to find the net. After a start to the match dominated by OM, the Lille slowed down leaving Marseille to get good opportunities, like this strike from Kamara well repulsed by Maignan (35th).

In the second half, little change. Until the very end of the match which sounded the death knell for the Mastiffs who scored two goals in quick succession by the same man: Jonathan David. First, on a deviation from Luiz Araujo, Ikoné serves on the left in the box. It was badly rejected by Mandanda when David appeared to open the scoring.

Two minutes later, David did it again with a superb strike and definitively delivered Christophe Galtier’s players who took the lead in Ligue 1 in front of PSG.

Monaco loses big in Strasbourg

After a period of play, Monaco and Strasbourg return to the locker room without a goal scored. A logical score especially since Monaco seems uninspired: apart from a big pressing at the start of the match and an opportunity for Ben Yedder, the Monegasques did not show much.

And that does not improve in the second half since Niko Kovak’s players put themselves in danger on their own. With the tip of his foot, Benjamin Lecomte saved his own from a Strasbourg goal, which Ludovic Ajorque was at the origin after a good pressing on Caio Henrique who found himself at the limit of the csc.

The Strasbourg pressing will eventually take effect in stoppage time. While the final whistle is near, Frédéric Guilbert climbs alone from the midfield without being attacked and strikes low. The shot, out of reach of Lecomte, landed in the small inside net. A defeat for Monaco which could cost dearly in the standings.

PSG wins in pain

The Parisians set the tone for the meeting after 5 minutes of play and a goal from Sarabia. Bordeaux was dangerous but narrowly missed in the last move to deceive a serious and disciplined PSG.

Half-time seems to have done good for the Bordelais who return to the field with a little more enthusiasm and deprive Paris of the ball on several occasions. The Parisians have suffered but can thank Sarabia, author of the only goal of the meeting. This victory allows them to remain second in the championship, in contact with Lille.

As for Bordeaux, the crisis continues since the players of Jean-Louis Gasset have chained a new defeat and an eighth game without a win, in all competitions.

Lyon without panache

The Rennais under the leadership of Philippe Bizeul after the resignation on Monday of their coach Julien Stéphan, arrived in Lyon in search of victory. It missed. If Stade Rennais showed better control of the game in the first period, the club did not materialize its chances.

The more sluggish Lyonnais in the second half were denied a goal in the 68th (offside) and then take the upper hand with a goal from Aouar (74th). 1-0 at the final whistle.

Brest sweeps Dijon

Dijon is struggling, Brest boosts its confidence capital. The Breton club after a good start to the match, opened the scoring in 17th by Honorat. A goal validated with video refereeing after a suspicion of offside. Mounié for Brest swells the score (2-0).

But the DFCO through Assalé will reduce the mark to half an hour of play. Just before half-time, Cardona for Brest drives the point home. The Dijon red lantern will return to the game in the second half, not enough. Victory for Brest 3-1.

Lens has fun

Another victory on the clock for Lens, a good omen in the race for Europe. The Sang et Ors scored two goals in the first period. On a penalty first in the 20th minute after a foul by Moukoudi on Lençois Kalimundo. The latter will score the second goal a few minutes later (25th). Saint-Etienne, however, reduced the mark to the 40th thanks to a goal from Moukoudi.

Lens did not say its last word with a final goal at the very end of the match from Pereira Da Costa (93rd), to finish the Greens get up and reduce the mark through Bouanga. Final score: 2-3.

Nice and Angers win

The Niçois quickly opened the scoring, striker Amine Gouiri was able to do it (1-0). Confident, the Aiglons kept possession of the ball throughout the meeting, leaving no room for the Nîmes who had yet imposed themselves on Rennes on the last day of L1. Back from the locker room, Nîmes returned to the match on a header from Landre (50th), but Claude-Maurice for Nice scored the winning goal 2-1.

For its part, Angers beat Metz with a penalty shot by Fulgini (44th). If the Messins have tried to return to the return of the locker room, it will not be. Victory of the Angevins 0-1.

Montpellier-Lorient, shoulder to shoulder

A goal everywhere at half-time between the Héraultais and Lorient. Opening of the score by Gbric (9th) for Lorient. Goal signed Mavididi (28th) on the side of Montpellier. Logical parity score in an open meeting rich in opportunities on both sides.

But the outcome of the match could have been very different if this goal from Moffi had been validated. As soon as he entered the pitch, he deceived Omlin with a left dive to restore the advantage to the Lorientais. But Mr. Bastien was called by his colleagues to find a fault on the recovery of the balloon at the origin of the balloon. For a fault by Abergel, the goal is refused, and Montpellier can breathe.

Nantes falls back into its pitfalls

Antoine Kombouaré’s men scored the first goal of the match through Simon but they did not manage to keep their advantage for very long. Konan for Reims reduced the mark just before half-time (39th). This lucky goal, the ball is countered by Louza, give a little hope to the poor Reims who intend to stand up to the Canaries.

If the Nantes people dominate, they still do not manage to concretize their efforts. And the Canaries, often in difficulty in the second part of the game, found themselves punished. Louza misses his marking on Abdelhamid who scores with a plunging header at the far post crucifying La Beaujoire. This is the first Nantes defeat since the arrival of Antoine Kombouaré at its head.
