Lille: Osimhen wins the Marc-Vivien Foé Prize for the best African player in Ligue 1

Victor Osimhen, attacking LOSC, was appointed by a jury composed of journalists specialized in French and African football from a list of 11 players previously drawn up by the sports services of RFI and France 24. The latter wanted to return to a season which, despite its early termination on March 13 due to the global health context, is marked by its quality and good performances by African players.

This edition also makes it possible to celebrate football, while supporters are temporarily deprived of it, and to honor the career of the best African players this year in League 1, some of which may have to change championships at the end of the season.

Victor Osimhen ahead of Algerian striker Islam Slimani (Monaco) and the Moroccan defender Yunis Abdelhamid (Stade de Reims). Looking at the season, seeing Slimani in front of Abdelhamid is quite surprising …. Nigerian striker succeeds Nicolas Pépé, who also won this trophy in 2019 while playing at LOSC.
