A 48-year-old man was arrested on Monday night by the criminal unit of the Local Judicial Police Service of Lille (SLPJ, formerly Urban Security). He is suspected of having inflicted one or more stab wounds that resulted in the death of a 59-year-old man, in the Rosa-Parks Residential and Social Rehabilitation Center (CHRS) building in Abej, rue Denis-Cordonnier.
The events took place late on Monday night, around 11pm. According to our information, confirm those the “Parisian”, a dispute started between the two men in the building where they both lived. CCTV footage first shows the victim entering his room with the suspect. Then, about an hour later, the victim came out, clearly suffering from a serious neck injury. The man, who is losing a lot of blood, goes to knock on a neighbor’s door, before he collapses.
The suspect is drunk
The emergency services were called and were unable to revive the sixty-year-old child, who had sustained stab wounds. The Bac battalion arrested the suspect, who was still at the scene, quickly and without difficulty. He was drunk, with about 1.5g of alcohol per liter of blood. A knife, which may have been the one used, was also seized.
The investigation begins. The suspect should be heard today by the criminal group SLPJ in Lille. An autopsy is scheduled. The police will also try to find out what exactly happened in the room, and what could be the reason for this attack.
