Damian Lillard scored 37 points and had 12 assists as the Portland Trail Blazers routed the San Antonio Spurs 147-127 on Monday night to snap a three-game skid.
Jusuf Nurkic had 25 points and 11 rebounds for a struggling Blazers who had lost eight of their last 10 games.
Keldon Johnson, with 20 points, was the best of the Spurs, who have asked for seven of eight and are in the penultimate position in the Western Conference, only above the Houston Rockets.
After frantic first-half activity on both baskets, the game went into halftime with the score tied at 74. The Blazers began to pull away late in the third quarter when Lillard’s 3-pointer gave them a 103-95 lead.
Rookie Shaedon Sharpe hit a 3-pointer and dunk to put the Blazers up 108-97. Lillard hit another 3 from the team logo in center court.
Portland went on to lead by 24 points in the fourth quarter to seal their win.
